2011 New Year Resoluation

Time flies. 2011 is approaching. Another year has passed. Recalling back what have happened in 2010, too many things that I had never expected I would have. During this year, it seemed I have become mature a lot. I met someone this year and I started to loan a house this year. So many things that were so out of my expectation happened. This is a good year to me. I hope the luck can stay continually in 2011. My New Year resolutions are getting married and moving to the new house. It is a new step of my life. Trying my best to achieve and play the new role. Wish all the best in 2011 for all my family, my friends and everyone I know.

2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition

This is the first time that Taiwan conducts the event of The 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition November 6, 2010 to April 25, 2011. Before it was started, there were many issues related to political parties raised. Or even people fought with the volunteers because it was a mess out there. However, it did not stop me to go. This event not only provides an opportunity for residents to know more about flowers but also brings in many tourists. There are four areas in total. People can take free shuttles to go each one of them. It is very convenient. I went there last Friday. The only thing I cannot stand was waiting. Since there are too many people, for those particular events we have to get the ticket before we go. In other words, we have to go there in the early morning and wait in line to get the ticket. I did not go every house. However, from the exhibition, I can see how great the event will be and how much effort the government has put in. If anyone has been there yet, they should go definitely.

My Boss

My boss is a Singaporean. He was sent by the headquarter, based in Singapore, to manage the branch in Taiwan. He is 35 years old which is young as a branch manager. When he came to our office, he was not good at conducting a company. He had not much experience in handling a office. However, he has tried his best to deal with things like administration, accounting, sales, and services. He is a funny person and easygoing. He treats us like friends than his staffs. As long as we have problems, we can talk to him and he will try to fix them for us. However, maybe he is not serious; sometimes we would unconsciously cross the line. Sometimes, other colleagues complain about him. Yet, I think that things always happened for a reason. There must be some misunderstands. Overall, he is a really good boss to me. I hope that our company can be better and better under his management.

Our Office Had Been Burglarized

When we had moved to a new office few years ago, we used to be burglarized. The office located in Linkou County. The area was still developing, so there were not many residents as living in Taipei. At the time, we did not have the security system installed. One day, I went to the office, I was always the earliest person who came to the office. I saw the door was opened. I thought maybe one of my colleagues came to the office earlier today. However, after I stepped into the office, there was something wrong. My computer was gone and coffee machine was gone too. Then I called to my manager. After she arrived to the office, we went to the police station to report burglary happened in our office. Then the police officer even came to our office to check and collected some information which the thief might leave. Luckily, we had had too many things in the office yet and other staffs' computers were laptop. They all carried with them. After that, we just quickly had the security system installed and hope to avoid any burglary happened again.

I was about To Be Defrauded

Last Saturday, I got a call from PC home which is an online shopping provider. She asked me if the thing which I bought 3 weeks ago tasted ok or not. I almost forgot it. Then I told her it was good. Then she started to inform me that the amount, NT426, I transferred from ATM to them has been proceed wrong because I made a mistake while I was transferred on ATM. She said, I pushed the wrong bottom so my account would be transferred NT426 for 12 months. So she said she will cancel the transaction with my bank and re-collect the money again. She even told me that I probably would get a call from my bank. After she hanged up, a call from my bank. He checked with me if I really got a call from PC home to request to cancel the transaction or not. And ask me to go to ATM and provide the machine number to him. They need to know if I really own the card or not. I almost believed them. I was ready to go 7-11 to check my ATM card. However, my friend thought it was a bit weird. Then he called to the service hotline to my bank and asked them. But the bank said it is fraud. So I realized that I was about to be defrauded and almost believed them. After 5 minutes, they called me again but I did not pick up. They kept calling me for 10 calls. Then they gave up. It was an experience to me. I should never trust this kind of thing so easily. Always check before provide personal information to others.

Why do you think some people don't exercise their right to vote?

There was just an election activity ended last week. It was about to vote for the mayors of the five main cities. Before the election, the stresses were always full of their flags and promotion flyers. The candidates always started to go around the stresses and yelled out loud in the evening in order to attract people’s attention and hope they can vote for them. However, most of the time, they had just bothered their voters. I personally do not enjoy political events at all because I think they like to fight instead of doing things for public. They seem to be united but they always against the people who are opposite, not to consider whether the issue is correct or wrong. so I think some people don’t exercise their right to vote might be because they dislike to be part of the political game or they simply do not like the candidates at all.
